ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2014)–With $2,202,874 in “new money” wagered on Sunday, Santa Anita’s total Pick Six pool reached an astronomical $2,633,749 by fourth race post time, leg one in the track’s popular two dollar wager.
A two-day carryover from Saturday of $430,875 served as the catalyst, and bettors again responded to deep and competitive fields on Sunday. With late scratches, average field size for the Pick Six was 8.7 horses per race–with 50 horses scheduled to compete in the final five legs.
